Deacon Keith A. Fournier, J.D., M.T.S., M.Phil.

Deacon Keith Fournier is a member of the Catholic clergy, a Deacon of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Virginia, who is currently serving in the Catholic Diocese of Tyler, Texas. He has been ordained for twenty-five years. He and his wife Laurine have been married for forty-five years and have five grown children and seven grandchildren.
Deacon Fournier currently assists Bishop Joseph Strickland, serving as a Deacon in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas. Among his assignments, he serves as General Legal Counsel, Director of Deacon Formation and Dean of Catholic Identity. He is also the Editor in Chief of Catholic Online and the Dean and Chaplain of Catholic Online School, a project of the Your Catholic Voice Foundation.
In the 1980’s he served as Dean of Students and Dean of Evangelization at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and hosted several series for the Eternal Word Television Network, while he also practiced Law and served the pro-Life movement. Fournier is a constitutional lawyer who then served as the first Executive Director of the American Center for Law and Justice in the 1990’S.
He appeared as co-counsel in several cases before the United States Supreme Court on Pro-Life, Religious Freedom and Pro-Family issues. He is a public policy advocate and activist. He is the Founder of the Common Good Foundation, which is committed to the conversion of culture through four pillars of participation, life, family, freedom, and solidarity through subsidiarity.
A published author with eight books and thousands of articles, he is currently engaged in several writing projects, including a jointly authored book with Bishop Joseph Strickland entitled “Guard the Deposit of Faith”. He is also a communicator, long active in preaching, teaching, and defending the Faith. Currently, he offers the Daily Readings from the Catholic Mass with Lectio Divina Reflections, available on the Catholic Online School, along with other teaching videos, on You Tube and other online resources.
Fournier holds his Bachelor’s degree in theology and philosophy from the Franciscan University of Steubenville (B.A.), his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Theology from the John Paul II Institute of the Lateran University (M.T.S), his Masters of Philosophy in Moral Theology (M.Phil.) from the Catholic University, and his Juris Doctor Law Degree Law (J.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
He completed all coursework for the Ph.D. and comprehensive exams in Moral Theology at the Catholic University of America. He is currently writing a Th.D. dissertation on the Theological Anthropology of the Gift in the Moral Theology of Pope St. John Paul II.
Deacon Fournier stands at the intersection of faith and culture in his ministry, his career, and his activism. He is well known, in Catholic circles and in the broader Christian community, for his lifelong work to promote Christian unity. He preaches and teaches in the Catholic Church and the broader Christian community.
