Many of you have been asking about the influenza shots for the coming season. Some have expressed concern that the ‘cell-based’ influenza shots for this year might be morally compromised. The good news is that none of the flu shots for this year were developed or produced using fetal cell lines. Most of the formulations are still based on avian cells – chicken eggs, basically. The cell-based shots used one of two cell lines – the Sf9 insect cell line or the MDCK canine cell line. The following information was taken, in part, from the FDA website:
Fluad Quadrivalent – Egg based
Afluria Quadrivalent – Egg based
Flucelvax Quadrivalent – MDCK (canine) cell line
Afluria – Egg based
Flulaval – Egg based
Fluarix – Egg based
Fluvirin – Egg based
Agriflu – Egg based
Fluozone – Egg based
Flucelvax – MDCK (canine) cell line
Flublok – Sf9 insect cell line
Flumist – Egg based
Fluarix Quadrivalent – Egg based
Fluzone Quadrivalent – Egg based
Flulaval Quadrivalent– Egg based
Audenz – MDCK (canine) cell line
Influenza A/H5N1 – Egg based
Thank you.
Thank you for your diligence and hard work.
Was the flulaval quadrivalent tested on the aborted cell lines during production?
No, it was not. None of the flu shots for the coming season have a connection to abortion.
Thank you. I was extremely concerned after reading this article today https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/pfizers-emails-are-the-tip-of-the-iceberg-aborted-fetal-cells-have-been-used-in-vaccines-for-50-yrs/?utm_source=top_news&utm_campaign=catholic
Thank you again for peace of mind.
It’s poison just like the others. Listen to God when He speaks, He know all, He knows the truth.
Thank you for this information.
Thank you x I believe our Heavenly Father made our immune system to function effectively…. but it requires us to obey His direction; especially regarding diet, fluids, exercise etc x sister EJ White has written much helpful literature which magnifies His holy scriptures x much love and God bless from the UK xx
+Thanks for your research & all that you & Stacy do tho build up the Culture of Life!. However, I too am quite leary about flu shots; especially the canine based ones, considering that Covid viruses are common in dogs. Injections of canine by-products into humans, may actually predispose people to iincreased Covid virus strains My sister-in-law is a Registered Pharmacist & Manager. They discontinued .Flu shots made with canine by-products in their Pharmacy, a couple of years ago, after large numbers of people became extremely ill after receiving them. The year before, the Flu-shots contained
spermacide, I can’t imagine that that would have been healthy for anyone. Know that my daily prayers & sacrifcies are with you & each one at Children of God for Life, at The Heart of The Church in Carmel,
The majority of the formulations are egg-based. I imagine you won’t find it difficult to find one of these formulations.
Where can I find how cosmetics are tested? “On skin cells” does not reveal WHAT OR WHOSE skin cells are used.
Just found your site today. Wow, you all put so much time and effort into your work to bring us this information. I can’t thank you enough. Bless you.
Still looking for an answer to this!
We are quite busy with exemption requests at this time.
What about the hemagglutinin ingredient? Was this developed using fetal cell lines?
Hemagglutinin is produced using plant-based expression systems and the testing makes use of animal models.
Thank you for all the good research and information you include on this website. I’d like to learn more about use of aborted fetal cell lines related to over-the-counter medication (like Tylenol and acetaminophen) and food, makeup and other everyday products. Do you know where I can go to obtain that information?
Are all of these flu vaccines morally ethical?
Yes. None of them are produced in aborted fetal cell lines.
Are these flu shots still the ones for 2022? There are other treatments under development, such as the mRNA flu shot.
Wondering the same thing.
For the most part, yes. We will be updating the website in the near future. The short answer is that the flu shots for this coming season are okay, using the same culturing methods described for last year’s formulations. What changes from year to year is the mix of flu virus that is predicted to circulate in the coming year. For example, H1N1 is proportionately more represented in this year’s mix. The rest of the process is unchanged.
I have heard of an mRNA flu shot in development, but one is not yet approved. Too late for this season, I think.
what is the recovery rate for the flu? Why is it so bad to get it and get the immunity?
Melissa, here’s a link to some CDC data on influenza. The mortality rate is approximately .02% (16.3 deaths per 100,000 population in the year 2020), with the recovery rate being the complement, or 99.98%. Obviously, as the general population is segmented, the mortality and recovery rates vary. The elderly and the very young (infants) are particularly at risk and comorbidities add to the risk.
Influenza is endemic – it’s always around – and dominant strains change from one season to the next. Last year’s immunity may not be all that helpful this year, depending on the dominant strain that emerges. The flu shots are formulated every year to protect against the predicted dominant strain(s). If the research and prediction are correct, protection is maximized. If not, then the flu shots are not as effective.
Thanks for your reply and information :-)!! Jesus is Love…GOD less you.
I’ve read that six flu vaccines in six years typically lowers a person’s general immunity. It has by then overstimulated the immune system to exhaustion.
