(Largo, FL)  Children of God for Life announced today the appointment of Fr. Thomas Euteneuer, as the group’s new Spiritual Director. He is also President of Human Life International, the world’s largest pro-life organization with affiliates in 75 countries.

The announcement came after the recent death of their former long-time advisor, Fr. Anthony Zimmerman, a retired Professor of Moral Theology who passed away May 19, 2006 in Japan.

“While Fr. Zimmerman will be dearly missed, I know he would be pleased to see Fr. Euteneuer taking over his role,” said Children of God for Life’s Executive Director, Debi Vinnedge.  “Not only have both of them assisted us in our fight to obtain ethical alternatives for aborted fetal vaccines, they have also worked together on other important pro-life projects over the years.”

Fr. Euteneuer is no stranger to the activities at Children of God for Life and their Campaign for Ethical Vaccines.  He successfully maneuvered a shareholder resolution in 2003 and 2004 to expose the truth about pharmaceutical giant Merck’s unethical practices.  He has also published numerous letters and articles on the vaccine issue in HLI’s Newsletters and Reports.

“Father Euteneuer is a perfect fit – a natural choice,” noted Vinnedge.  Her Board members whole-heartedly agreed, voting unanimously on the selection.

“There is hardly a greater blessing for me to have been asked to serve the mission of Children of God for Life in Fr. Zimmerman’s stead, “ said Fr. Euteneuer. “Not only do I fully support the work of this marvelous organization, but I see it as a necessary prophetic voice for conscience on many of the intricate moral issues of our day.”

“May the Lord continue to bless the work of our hands as we fight to bring an end to this injustice imposed by the pharmaceutical industry,” he added.
