My understanding was that all 2024-2025 flu shots are trivalent, but the above chart still shows some quadrivalent.
According to your vaccine chart, an ethical version of the measles vaccine is currently only available in Japan. Are you aware of any progress in making an ethical version available in the U.S., especially in light of the recent outbreak and public concern? Or even in another country besides Japan? Thanks for all your good work.
I know many in my community would get vaccinated (who currently are not) against measles and mumps should Merck bring back the individual vaccines — and I want to provide these vaccines… I called Merck last week (I have called them several times on this issue over the last few years) and they continue to say they have no plans to bring these back; they say this is based on ACIP/CDC recommendations, etc. which state, more or less, that it is better to have all 3 components in one shot to improve adherence to the full vaccine series… blah, blah, blah…
I requested the medical inquiry team to escalate the issue — because isn’t it more important to increase vaccination rates against Measles than whatever the real reason these vaccines have been discontinued. Since Merck documents all calls and “your call may be recorded for quality assurance” it seems that if they get a lot of calls on this issue, we have more hope to ethically increase measles vaccination rates… Please call them.
Thank you for all you are trying to do Joel – and if you have not already done so, please take a moment and sign the petition (and share it with others) https://www.change.org/p/centers-for-disease-control-urge-merck-to-revive-single-dose-measles-and-mumps-vaccines We want 1000 signatures minimum…
I know you will need a lot money to make them but how about to import it from Japan? Is that something viable?
Unfortuantely, no. That is not a viable option.
It seems that the original measles vaccines (Attenuvax) has been around long enough that it should be off-patent… meaning that any vaccine manufacturer could produce it with out violating a patent protection. Perhaps we should look beyond Merck for a solution?
We are trying to do that as well. Our partners at Sound Choice have the ability to provide the moral MMR but funding is a major obstacle right now. Meanwhile we will continue to pressure Merck…stay tuned!
There is already a moral version in the US for measles and mumps but Merck made the decision not to stop providing them separately 4 years ago. We are working with Sound Choice Pharmaceutical on moral versions but that will take time and funding. Meanwhile, there is no reason why Merck can’t give us the moral versions again – the recent outbreaks are squarely on their shoulders!
Sorry to see that you have not done the research, let alone read the measles vaccine insert. There you will find that the vaccine itself may cause measles.
When taking a live vaccine the disease itself sheds just like the disease would without the vaccine. Wouldn’t let my child play with a newly vaccinated child. Not with them shedding a modified version of the disease. I will let them play with a child however that has the measles virus naturally. Get it young, boost their immunity.
There is also research with the measles disease to help with cancer.
So many benefits with the childhood diseases when they are not suppressed.
The science of vaccination is real, but this isn’t it.
Anyone who praises these vaccines are either ignorant, incompetent or straight out lying and in the pocket of the Merck Mafia.
Have to go with the science and my doctor to old to risk my health. Made the sign of the cross and got a booster shot.
My family and I all had mumps, measles, and Rubella and have not had any problems whatsoever. These are not the deadly diseases that the medical community is trying to make them out to be. Also, we will not use vaccines made in collusion with child killers and using the aborted babies. NO NAZI MEDICINE! The German doctors who performed deadly experiments on prisoners in Dachau and Auschwitz had the same morals as the vaccine manufacturers-namely none. Same does for the those who torture embryos for lethal research.
I am glad you and your family were able to fight of these infections without major long term consequences. Hopefully no one was pregnant when rubella was contracted? I do agree on most of your thoughts, but I urge less complacency — these diseases cause great harm, and despite the problems with the vaccine, we should at least be grateful how low the rates of these infections now are compared to decades ago…
