STOP ABORTED FETAL TISSUE IN VACCINE PRODUCTION

For over 30 years, our country has been quietly producing vaccines from human cell lines derived from abortion.  There are eight commonly used vaccines:  Polio, Rabies, Rubella (MMR), Chickenpox, Zostavax (Shingles), Hepatitis-A, Twinrix (Hepatitis A-B combo) and ProQuad (MMR-Chickenpox combo) all of which were propagated from the lung tissue of two aborted babies, one male, one female.  Of these, three have NO ALTERNATIVE SOURCE: Rubella/MMR, Chickenpox and Hepatitis-A.  There are alternatives for both Rubella and Hepatitis-A, but these products are not available in the United States. 

Therefore, we, the undersigned, petition Merck & Co. and Glaxo SmithKline (formerly SmithKline Beecham) as the manufacturers of MMR, TWINRIX, HAVRIX, VAQTA, VARICELLA AND VARIVAX, to produce safe, effective alternatives for the existing vaccines and to use ethical alternatives in future products.  We further petition the FDA to process any such application expeditiously. If you agree that manufacturing vaccines in this manner is not only illicit, but also violates your moral right to access ethically produced alternatives, please sign this petition.
